Students across the region enjoyed a snow day on Monday, following approximately one foot of snow that accumulated overnight on Sunday. Temperatures were expected to drop to zero or below overnight Monday, further compounding travel throughout the state. The huge winter storm impacted nearly all of the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states, cancelling thousands of flights and slowing travel to a crawl in some areas. Speed limits on major roads, including Interstates 80 and 99 in Pennsylvania, were lowered, and multiple car crashes were reported throughout the region. Cora and Isaac Grovanz are shown enjoying their day off building this snow tunnel.
