State Budget Impasse Impacting Local Agencies

Cameron County Commissioners have held several meetings with local agencies to discuss issues surrounding the state budget impasse and its effects on operations.
Commissioners met with staff from the Cameron County Family Center, Children and Youth Services and other local service providers over the past week. According to Commissioner Phil Jones, CYS is “tightening things up” and compiling a report on what will happen if the stalemate continues.
