Weekend in the Wilds ushered in Santa and the Christmas season on Saturday, but not with the usual weather for this time of year. Despite the warmer temperatures, carolers serenaded the crowds of people who made their way downtown to eat, shop and be entertained. Vendors lined Fourth Street, young and old alike enjoyed the parade and  Breakfast with Santa, with a line of children waiting to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. Two of Santa’s reindeer also made the trip to Emporium, where children were able to get an up-close view and even pet them. Contests were held for Best Decorated House and Best Business Wreath, with dozens of entries for both. All-in-all, it was a great Saturday enjoyed by residents and droves of visitors brought in by the spring-like weather.
