    The results of the Fortieth Annual Canoe & Kayak Classic held this past Saturday are in. Despite a rough year with more than 20 boats capsizing, more than 100 canoes and kayaks crossed the finish line of the twelve-mile course between the Emporium Country Club and Driftwood.

Former Resident’s Death Ruled Homicide

    The death of a former Emporium resident and graduate of Cameron County High School found in his apartment last week has been ruled a homicide. Cyle Blake Strahl, age 29, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, was found unresponsive in the doorway of his apartment last Saturday evening.

St. James To Open April 26

    There will be no Mass at St. James the first weekend of fishing season this year because it coincides with Palm Sunday. St. James will open on April 26 with Saturday evening vigil Masses being held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday evenings.  

Food Pantry

    The Cameron County Food Pantry will hold a distribution for people determined eligible on Wednesday, April 16th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the building located behind the Northern Tier Community Action offices at 135 West Fourth Street in Emporium.

Senior Center Bunny Bingo
