Historical Society Receives $4,000 Grant

    Four area historical societies and a local museum have been selected to receive state grants, according to Senator Joe Scarnati.. Locally, the Cameron County Historical Society will receive $4,000. Scarnati explained that the grants are being awarded as part of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission’s (PHMC) Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program.

    “Raising the Roof,” a fund-raiser spaghetti dinner to benefit church in Mesbiljah, Mexico, will be held Saturday, March 28 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Emporium Firehall. Cost is $2.00 per person and includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, Italian bread, dessert and drink.

Sinnemahone Trail Run Gives Back To Community

    The Sinnemahone Trail Run donates a portion of its proceeds to organizations in Cameron County.  This week $1,500 was donated to Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activites, Emporium Volunteer Fire Department Fire Police, Emporium Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Mountaineer Search and Rescue and West Creek Rails to Trails.
