    Kindergarten Registration has been extended at the Woodland Elementary School in the Cameron County School District to Tuesday, May 12. Children must be five (5) years of age on or before July 1, 2015 to be eligible to enter kindergarten.

  (1916-2015) Paul Palamarchuck, 98, formerly of Emporium, passed away (April 14, 2015) in San Antonio, Texas.

  (1927-2015) Leonard C. Mahon, 88, of Roulette, died Thursday (April 16, 2015) at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

  (1938-2014) Ernest C. Russell (Ernie), 75, of Manley Hot Springs, Alaska, with his loving wife by his side, went Home to be with the Lord on (June 26, 2014) at the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

  Estelle and I have known Jim Thomas for over a decade.  Jim, you served Cameron County with just honor. Estelle and I were on many committees – Southern Calif. Motion Picture – The Actors Fund, S.A.G.-withdrew, Plant 42 Cleanup Committee – VFW, American Legion; Estelle- Auxiliary.

  The Emporium Senior Citizens Center is presently looking for new members. If you are 55 or older, it is a good place to go to socialize, play cards, bingo (Wednesdays) or enjoy Wii Bowling.
