Second Graders Visit Andrews Farm

    The second grade students of Woodland Elementary recently visited the Andrews farm. Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities (CCOYA) coordinated the event that included fishing, learning about ways everyone can help prevent water pollution and facts about honey bees. They also learned facts about Whitetail deer and other wildlife common to our area.

Students Participate In State Envirothon

    The 32nd Pennsylvania Envirothon was held on May 19th and 20th at University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown campus. Students in 5-member teams representing 63 counties were registered in the two day event sponsored by the 66 Conservation districts in Pennsylvania. Woodmobile Visits Woodland Elementary

    Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities recently coordinated arrangements for the WoodMobile to visit the Woodland school. The Pa. WoodMobile is a traveling exhibit that provides information on the state’s forest resource and the state’s forest products industry.   

New Water Quality Testing Program

Rotary Awards Scholarships

Smith Finishes 10th at Track and Field Championships

    Cameron County High School junior Trae Smith made the trip to Shippensburg University last Friday for the 2015 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Championships after winning the District 9 Class AA javelin title and came away with a tenth place finish with a throw of 170’7”.   

Cameron County Native To Compete at Special Olympics State Games

    Zachary Williams, former resident of Cameron County, will compete at the Special Olympics State Games, which are held yearly at Penn State main campus.   Zachary currently represents Fayette County.  He and 20 fellow Fayette County athletes will be competing from June 4 through June 6.  Zachary’s sport this year is basketball.
