4th Graders Become Bird Brainiacs
Don Bickford of Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities (CCOYA) and Mark Johnson, a local birder who is very knowledgeable on the subject of birds, have started a new program at the Woodland Elementary School.
Once a month they will present a program to the 4th grade students, introducing them to birds. The primary goal is for students to become more aware of their surroundings while outdoors and be able to identify a minimum of 25 birds common to our area by the end of the school year.
