Documentation has been sent to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) requesting a rate increase for customers of the Emporium Water Company (EWC), which operates in the Borough of Emporium and portions of Shippen Township.

The increases are designed to generate an additional $401,903 in revenue “to meet increased operating expenses and costs of service including the support and recovery of approximately $2.5 million in capital improvements,” according to a Press Release issued by EWC.
