Challenges Facing Local Ambulance Service
With the year’s end rapidly approaching the Board of Directors of Cameron County Ambulance Service (CCAS) want to report to you, our community, what is happening with your ambulance service.
For the past several years the Directors of CCAS have been dedicated to formulating a long-term solution to provide a financially stable ambulance service here in Cameron County. In light of what is happening all over the Commonwealth and the nation as a whole with ambulance services, Emporium’s challenges are truly no different than most other communities. Declining insurance reimbursement, increasing operating costs, lack of qualified staff, and the rapidly increasing cost of training are contributing to the decline of many EMS agencies across our state and nation.
