Commissioners Report On Upgrades at Rec Center
Cameron County Commissioners presented information on upgrades at the recreation center and efforts to mitigate damages suffered in the building’s basement during flooding last month.
Commissioners stated that overall Memorial Hall was not severely damaged when downtown storm drains were unable to carry away the inch-plus of rain per hour that fell in and around the Emporium Borough. The recreation center, located on South Chestnut Street, has been damaged in years past due to high water, as one level of the facility is below ground.
