Conservation District Hosts Project Tour

 

 

The Cameron County Conservation District hosted their annual project tour on Friday to highlight some of the many projects district employees and partners have completed.

Several stops showcased projects in the Sterling Run area where acid mine drainage and erosion along creek banks have caused a number of problems. A number of projects were completed with funds provided by Norfolk Southern following the train crash in Gardeau approximately 10 years ago. The spill killed fish, invertebrates and other stream-dwelling species for many miles downstream in the Sinnemahoning Creek.
