County Commissioners To Showcase Positive Undertakings

Cameron County Commissioners hosted several visitors during Thursday’s meeting, as part of an effort to highlight more county programs.

Commissioner Lori Reed stated that they are working to bring in more speakers from across county operations to showcase the positive efforts being undertaken by county employees and residents.

Prothonotary Mary Grace Olay discussed the Baskets of Hope fundraiser held through October at the courthouse. Employees from a number of offices created large baskets, and tickets were sold for $1.00 each at the prothonotary’s office last month. One of the “baskets” was actually a fire pit stuffed full of camping and outdoor-themed items. Money raised through Baskets of Hope is donated to local residents battling cancer. Courthouse employees wore pink every week throughout the event and even the outdoor lighting was tinted pink in honor of “Pinktober.”
