Courtney Homicide Hearing Postponed

A preliminary hearing for an Emporium man accused of homicide has been postponed until December.

The preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday was cancelled in the case of Michael Fuller Courtney, age 34, of Emporium, accused of murder in the first degree, murder in the second degree, murder in the third degree and two felony counts of aggravated assault. The hearing has been rescheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 8.

According to the affidavit of probable cause on file at Magisterial District Justice Barry Brown’s office in Emporium, Courtney travelled to Sheetz convenience store on West Fourth Street to alert police to a situation at his friend’s apartment where he had been staying.
