Damage From Late September Heavy Rains
Heavy rains the last days of September caused serious damage to the Hicks Run Maintenance Division’s Road system on the Elk State Forest, including Hicks Run and Dents Run roads. The heavy rains were localized, which limited the damage area but caused about $330,000 damage; this is in addition to the staff time to repair the damage.
So if you are in the area this fall, either sightseeing or hunting, be aware of the potential for rough roads and be cautious because employees are nearby repairing road damage.
