Dear Editor:

Regrettably, some 60 to 70 percent of the Commissioners Meeting (regarding the local manufacturing industry) as reported by The Echo reporter was a figment of her imagination. The meeting was (in my opinion) a VERY cordial meeting with a lot of good comments/ideas emanating from both the commissioners and myself. All efforts were focused on what could be done to make Emporium and Cameron County a viable manufacturing center with good jobs and wages. Most of the discussion (not “blasting or attacking” as reported) was on education and what could or should be done to better prepare potential employees for more fulfilling entry level jobs and how to graduate up the ladder from there – i.e. tech schools.
