A hearing was held on a post sentence relief motion filed by a former Emporium resident convicted of charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse (IDSI) with a child during October Return Day proceedings in Cameron County.

Joseph William Chapman, age 33, was found guilty by a jury in October of 2015 on charges of IDSI statutory sexual assault. He is currently serving a sentence of 15 to 40 years for the charges, and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
