Defendants Appear For Sentencing, Arraignment
A number of defendants appeared for sentencing and formal arraignment at Return Day hearings held in Cameron County just before Christmas.
Michael James Hallowell, age 24, entered a guilty plea to one misdemeanor count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, stemming from an incident that occurred in June of 2016.
Hallowell had been serving out the remainder of his sentence on a previous conviction at his home on Hillcrest Drive. A parole officer sent to check on Hallowell discovered him to be in possession of marijuana. He had initially been charged with a felony count of possession with the intent to deliver, but that charge will not be prosecuted. Charges were amended at this hearing to include the small amount charge.
