Over the next few weeks, the Echo will chronicle some of the history of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, the first congregation in the community to celebrate 150 years of service to the people of Cameron County.

A 150th Anniversary Celebration is being planned for Sunday, October 30. Services will be conducted by Bishop of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Diocese, the Right Reverend Sean Rowe, and Emmanuel’s current rector, Reverend Matt Ryan.

Church will begin at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow in the parish hall. A historical display will be set up, featuring old memorabilia and photographs of the church over the years. Members of the local ministerium association, past and interim priests and other dignitaries will be invited to attend, and the public is welcome, as well.
