by Phil Burkhouse, Wandering Aimlessly

As I travel though life my perspectives on topics change as my education and experiences progress.  Everyone has different talents and abilities, and as I grow older, I grow more tolerant of people whose ideas clash with my way of thinking.  That is not to say my ways of thinking will ever change on certain hot topics such as abortion and gun control, but I believe in the right of having and expressing different ideas and opinions on subjects.

I believe I am a product of my background, experiences, environment, and luck.  The values I place in highest priority deal with the outdoors, religion, family, kids, sports, and generally in being good and doing what is right.  This is not going to be a sermon, and a talk with any of my friends will quickly reveal I am a long, long way from perfect and not necessarily a straight arrow.  Since my article is entitled “Wandering Aimlessly,” I have decided to leave the outdoors this week and wander into town life, explore some local history, and look into the future.
