From the Bleachers

The best part about watching high school sports is watching kids come together as a team and have some success. There are moments in games that can really be turning points for a team and I witnessed one such moment last Monday when the CCHS varsity basketball team hosted Kane.

It was a very physical game and hard-fought by both teams with the Wolves collecting the win in the end. But Raider sophomore big man Jake Walters and junior swing man Moe Yarborough were doing an outstanding job defending Kane’s center and leading scorer Andrew Bucheit. Bucheit was clearly becoming frustrated and he finally broke loose for a thunderous dunk off of an offensive rebound. Bucheit then proceeded to follow Walters down the floor and was clearly letting the Red Raider center know how good he was. Walters stayed nose to nose with Bucheit until the referees instructed them to walk away.
