From the Bleachers

Two quick observations from watching the NCAA Division I basketball championship semifinals. First, did Oregon forget how to block out when rebounding free throws? And second, I guess I never realized the amount of foreign players that were matriculating at top United States universities; at least the basketball playing ones. Three of South Carolina’s starting five were foreign players and Gonzaga’s seven foot, three hundred plus pound center is from Poland.

MLB opening day for the Pirates was on Monday and unfortunately, they open at Boston. In addition to traditionally having awful early season weather, the Red Sox should also be pretty strong competition for the American League Pennant. Fortunately, the Bucs will return home to play the Braves on Friday and most think Atlanta will be among the worst teams in the National League.
