I had a good visit with an old fraternity brother of mine on Saturday, Gregg Fritz. Gregg is the recently retired golf pro from Pinecrest Country Club in Brookville and is also a PIAA basketball official. He is recovering from left knee replacement surgery and will soon undergo the same operation on his right knee so I felt the need to show up at his house with a variety pack of the Straub Brewery’s four new craft beers, two of which I can recommend. The other two I have yet to sample.
Gregg’s wife is Ann Coolick, who happened to be a high school classmate of mine here at CCHS and Ann and I did more catching up on events of our Emporium classmates than Gregg and I did discussing our college days at Slippery Rock State College. For you youngsters, that was what it was named before it became Slippery Rock University.
