From the Bleachers

It was an entertaining but wet game at Dutch Country Stadium last Friday, but the Red Raiders improved significantly form the first game and were not only competitive but gave the Crusaders a scare. In truth, three turnovers by CCHS, all on nice drives deep in ECC territory, cost them an opportunity to win the game.
My Pitt Panthers jumped out to a three touchdown lead but then had to go to overtime to win their opener, which doesn’t sound like a bad way to start the season until you take into consideration the opponent was Youngstown State. The real bad news is that Pitt has to go to Beaver Stadium next to play the Nittany Lions. Penn State looked every bit like their preseason number six ranking in their thumping of Akron. And the Lions will be looking to avenge last season’s loss at Heinz Field, which was the loss that kept them out of the National Championship playoff. I just hope it doesn’t get ugly.
