The Department of Education has released documentation detailing steps that must be taken by school districts in Pennsylvania before they can close.

The two-page document released earlier this month is in response to an undisclosed number of requests for guidance on how school districts can cease operations when they run out of funding due to political gridlock in Harrisburg.

The state is in its eighth month of the twelve-month fiscal year and still has no budget. Negotiations are set to begin on the 2016-17 budget.
