‘Heading Out’

On a very hot evening in July of 1990, my wife, Sherri and I were having a rather difficult day. It was hot, and I was angry, so we decided to go for a drive. It was a drive that would change our lives forever!

You see, earlier in the week, some of the fine folks at the Free Methodist Church invited our family to the annual Family Camp meeting in Kane. The kind people of the church had been taking our two children, Shelly and David to Sunday school for a while and were trying very hard to get me into church… I suppose I was a pretty big fish to catch and I was resisting with all my might! The kids wanted me in church; I just wanted to sleep off the persistent hangovers I had Sunday mornings!
