Hunters Sharing the Harvest Benefits from Youth Hunters

During Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities’ (CCOYA) recent youth doe hunt, all seven participants were excited to donate their first deer, if successful, to the Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH) program.

After spending two evenings in the big woods a total of three doe were harvested by the young hunters. The hunters learned how to properly field dress and skin the deer, then delivered them to HSH approved Valley Meats for processing. The meat will be ground into hamburger and then donated to the Cameron County Community Food Pantry where it will be distributed throughout Cameron County to those in need.
