Local Youth Participate In 4-H Air Rifle Regional Shoot

Jefferson County 4-H Air Rifle Team recently hosted the 2017 Regional 4-H Shooting Sports Air Rifle event, held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds  This is an annual event that is open to all 4-H Air Rifle members in the Central Region of Pennsylvania.

Youth from Cameron, Elk, Potter, Jefferson, Centre and Clearfield counties competed as individuals and as teams in the event. From the six counties, approximately 60 youth took part and competed against other youth in their age groups.

“This event was coordinated by Amy Murphy, Potter County 4-H Education Director and would not be possible without the generosity and dedication of all of the 4-H leaders and volunteers that help make it happen,” stated Natalie Aiello, the 4-H Educator for Elk and Cameron counties, and coordinator for the event.

“I am also very proud of all of the youth competitors that take part in this event and also very excited to see the Cameron and Elk County shooters do so well!  The Cameron County 4-H program continues to send so many skilled shooters.  Mike Rodich, Jean Tesauro, Paul Benedict, and Don Bickford (CCOYA) have really made the 4-H Air Rifle Program a success in Cameron County.”
