Cameron County’s Fallen Korean War Airman Returns Home
A two-county effort has been organized in order to honor a fallen community member.
Air Force 1st Lieutenant William Turner was killed during the Korean War while on a flight from McChord Air Force Base in Washington to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska aboard a C-124 Globemaster cargo plane when it crashed into one of Mount Gannett’s peaks.
