Cameron County Birders will participate in the 115th annual Christmas Bird Count, organized by the Audubon Society this Sunday, December 21.

The Audubon Society count is the longest running Citizen Science survey in the world, providing critical data on population trends for a wide variety of bird species.

Counts are organized into circles, with Cameron County’s count extending to a radius of 7.5 miles around Whittimore Fire Tower, just outside of Emporium, and including the areas of Sterling Run, Truman, Four Mile and Rich Valley.
