Emporium Water Co. Rate Hike Decision Coming Soon
A decision on rate increases submitted to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) by the Emporium Water Company (EWC) is likely to be finalized in the next several weeks, following a release of the binding poll taken by a five-member panel.
The panel voted 5-0 in favor of a joint motion by PUC Chairman Robert F. Powelson and Commissioner Gladys M. Brown to adjust the proposed revenues imputed for the sale of bulk water; to change the proposed capital structure; and to adjust the proposed return on equity, exceptions to the recommended decision reached by Administrative Law Judge Dennis J. Buckley. The original base rate case was filed by EWC on April 30, 2014.
