Helzel Enters Guilty Plea
A local man chose to avoid facing trial on charges of crimes against a child, instead accepting a negotiated plea arrangement that will see him evaluated by the sex offender board.
Arthur Allen Helzel, age 35, formerly of Cameron County and New York State, pleaded guilty to one count of Indecent Deviate Sexual Intercourse (IDSI) with a Child for an assault that occurred in 2007 or 2008 against a young girl, who was ten or eleven years old at the time.
