School Board Votes To Seek House Demolition Bids

Members of the Cameron County School District’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to advertise for bids for demolition of a district-owned house at 427 Woodland Avenue. The move authorized administration to work with the solicitor to draft the necessary bid packet.
Initially, the board had intended to advertise the home for sale for a minimum bid of $35,000, but following comments by several individuals and the school solicitor, the board decided instead to demolish the structure and retain the property.
