A building owned by the Cameron County School District (CCSD) and adjacent to the Cameron County High School (CCHS) is in the process of demolition.

The building, a former home at 427 Woodland Avenue, was purchased in 2009 at a cost of more than $70,000. Board members have discussed retaining the property to possibly put in a second access road onto school grounds.
