The Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has granted a rate increase to the Emporium Water Company (EWC), though not as high as originally requested.

“The rates have already gone into effect,” stated EWC employee Jerry Crosby. “The higher rates will be reflected on the next cycle of bills.”

EWC was granted rate increases of approximately 74% of what was initially requested, according to the decision released by the PUC earlier this month.
