Metal Detecting Event Well Attended

The Second Annual Dirt Digging PA Treasure Hunt held this weekend at the Cameron County Fairgrounds saw the number of attendees almost triple over the event’s inaugural year.

Around 100 people attended on both days of the event despite rainy, overcast and chilly conditions. Last year, the event drew about 30 people each day.

“Everything ran smooth except the weather and we dealt fine with that,” said organizer Kent Davis, who with his wife, Wendy, oversaw registration, setup and operations during the digs. “It was fun and nice to bring that many people into town.”
