COLD AND ALONE – Part Two
I had worked all night when an early morning call came in of a plane down somewhere deep in Game Lands 14 on the Cameron/Elk County line. Without any sleep or food, I geared up for the search. A bad idea.
Snows were deep, temperatures hovering around 10 with wind gusts to 40-MPH. Our snowmobile bogged down in deep snow and couldn’t continue so I started out on foot to the coordinates where Cleveland Center said the plane went off radar.
