INCREASE IN DEER HERD

This summer dawned with a notable increase in the White-tailed Deer population in WMU2-G, H.

Since I have, only on a few occasions, bashed the Pennsylvania Game Commission for the drastic reduction in our deer herd, I should, in all fairness give the Game Commission credit for the strange increase of  our deer numbers…but I won’t.

Because, in all fairness: (1) The Pennsylvania Game Commission initially denied having anything to do with the decline in deer numbers. (2) Instead, they insinuated that hunters were, stupid, spoiled and lazy. (3) The reduction of Pennsylvania’s deer herd destroyed the tradition of hunting in Pennsylvania. (4) The reduction of Pennsylvania’s deer herd killed the initiative for recruiting young hunters, and caused a reduction in hunting license sales.
