Phartin’ Barts Takes People’s Choice Award at BBQ Competition
Visitors packed the grassy lot on East Fourth Street in Emporium for this year’s All Fired Up and Kickin’ Ash BBQ Competition held this past Saturday in Cameron County.
“It was crowded. We had a really great crowd,” said Cameron County Chamber of Commerce Director Tina Johns-Solak. “Having so much going on this weekend didn’t really diminish our numbers.”
Eight competitors vied for trophies in categories of wings, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, side dishes, desserts and the coveted People’s Choice award. This year’s trophies resembled a barbecue smoker and were printed by local craftsman Dan Wennin.
