The Cameron County High School Red Raider varsity baseball team opened the season at home last Monday but were beaten by the Coudersport Falcons 9-4 in a game that was switched from Carp Park to the Cameron County Little League Complex due to field conditions.

“We played well for five innings,” said Red Raider Coach Jamer Cooney. “But the last two innings we didn’t.”

The Red Raiders also had two more scheduled contests, but a home game on Wednesday was cancelled when Galeton folded and a road game at Bradford on Friday was washed out by rain.

Coudersport led 5-4 after five frames but put together a four-run sixth to take the win. Adam Shaffer was the starting pitcher for CCHS and allowed five runs on ten hits while striking out ten and walking two, but just two runs were earned. Ty Bauer came in for relief in the sixth but was tagged for four runs; he allowed two hits and walked four.
