Raider Track Teams Open Season

The Cameron County High School Red Raider varsity Track and Field teams travelled to Otto-Eldred last Tuesday for their first meet of the season. The Raiders defeated Oswayo Valley but fell to Otto-Eldred, while the Lady Raiders defeated Otto-Eldred but lost to Oswayo Valley.

For CCHS Kamme Guisto won the high jump (4’8”), the long jump (15’6”) and the triple jump (33’4”). Her distances in the long jump and triple jump qualified her for the District 9 Championships held at the conclusion of the season.
Also winning their events were Eliza Farabaugh in the 300 hurdles (1:03) and 3200m (18:24), Kennedy Chmelar in the 100m hurdles (21.7), Alayna Genevro in the 400m (1:18), and Cassie Frey in the 800m (2:56). The 1600m relay team of Chmelar, Farabaugh, Shania Cook and Spaeth won in 6:47 and the 400m relay team of Genevro, Farabaugh, Frey and Guisto won in 57.7 seconds.
