The 2017 Cameron County High School varsity football team will open their 2017 season on Friday when they host the Curwensville Golden Tide.
The Red Raiders, under second year head coach Scott Burnside, are looking to improve on last year’s 1-8 record. Twenty-three student athletes will make up the squad including nine seniors, five juniors, four sophomores and five freshmen.
The returning starters and letter winners will be all seniors including quarterback Adam Streich, fullback Jared Whiting, receivers Eric Morton and Derek Beldin and linemen Devin Palumbo, Tim Banks, Bryce Heim and Andrew Goss. Senior receiver Ethan Vislay returns after sitting out his junior season with an injury.
Aside from the seniors the Red Raiders have little experience but will rely on underclassmen for depth.
