Several defendants facing charges involving sexual misconduct appeared for court hearings during Tuesday’s Return Day proceedings at the Cameron County Courthouse.

Former Emporium Borough Police Department (EBPD) Sergeant Francis Johnson, age 51, of Weedville, had been scheduled for jury call prior to trial, but had his hearings continued.

Johnson was charged in August of 2015 with multiple counts for his alleged involvement with a juvenile female under the age of 16. The two exchanged lewd texts and photographs, according to the affidavit of probable cause on file at the courthouse, and planned to meet after the girl’s 16th birthday.
