‘Still Home…at Least in My Heart’

Letter to the Editor:

I was born in 1940. With no hospital in town, I was given birth at my parents’ small apartment located in downtown Emporium. This little town is buried in the mountains. It is commonly referred to as the “Land of the Endless Mountains.” Some call it “God’s Country,” and that is how I view it. There is much to admire with its many streams and creeks flowing over moss covered rocks, not to mention being lined by the awesome array of trees. A beautiful river flows right through town.
