Summer’s Opener

It might not be the biggest opening day and it may not be the most popular opener either, but to those who participate, their passion is as great as the diehard trout angler or whitetail stalker. It is also the most unique opener and it is something that belongs to this area of the northern tier alone. Snake opener came on Saturday the 13th of June and probably outshone the fairly popular bass season locally.

Rattlesnake season has a little bit of everything for an outdoorsman. It has a carnival atmosphere at the roundups; also, the roundups provide a competitive social element that is so popular in fishing. You must strike out to the wilderness to find them consistently and that contains all the best elements of hunting season. Some people camp and others ride motorcycles to the hunts.
