‘The Warner and The Police’

I believe a few weeks ago the question was asked: “How was the Warner Hotel involved with the police”?

The following could be an answer:

In the 1950s my father, “Erg” Murray was employed as a boro police officer. Only the “Night Cop.” In those days patrol cars didn’t have radios so the only way to contact the police was by telephone. Officers would drive around the boro streets. The new police car was a Plymouth, a 1953 or ‘54.
