Umble Hosting 5k For Down Syndrome Awareness

Alex Umble, a member of the class of 2018, is hosting a 5k Run/2 mile Walk along with a Buddy Walk to raise awareness for Down Syndrome. Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder in which one has an extra copy of the 21st chromosome.

“I lost a brother and have a cousin, Levi, with Down Syndrome,” said Alex. Levi may struggle with some things but he is very aware of the world around him. These are the reasons Alex chose this as his Senior Project.

The event will be held June 24th, with the race starting at 9 a.m. at the Cameron County High School Track. Registration forms are available at the Cameron County Chamber, The Wellness Center, Brown Memorial Library, the High School Office or by calling Alex Umble at 486-3745.
