End-of-the-year area data is now available from the Pennsylvania Center of Workforce Information and Analysis concerning local communities.

In Cameron County, the December 2016 unemployment rate was calculated at 8.4%, with approximately 200 of the county’s 4,869 residents considered unemployed.

Approximately 50 individuals had their unemployment compensation benefits run out. About 20 of those workers were employed in manufacturing; 20 in trade, transportation and utilities; and 10 in professional and business services.
