125 Pheasants Hatch In CCSD Classrooms

Incubating pheasant eggs has become a tradition for students of Cameron County School District thanks to the coordination efforts of Third grade teacher, Ben Porkolab. Once incubation has started the hatch dates are pretty predictable.

This year there was potential that eggs may start hatching during a weekend so arrangements were made to check on them. By Sunday evening there were few pheasants that had hatched. By Monday morning more than 40 pheasants arrived into their new environment and were welcomed into the world by some very excited students.
