2015 Trout Opener

by William Crisp

The 2015 trout season opener came with a bang. Pleasant temperatures and sunny skies brought out anglers in droves who stayed out all day; all weekend. Paths along our “wilderness” streams are already pounded and connecting fishing hole to fishing hole.  The predicted death of our fishing population has been greatly exaggerated.

There were numbers out of all ages enjoying the fishing and the weather. I saw anglers in lakes, big streams, small streams, wild streams and stocked, polluted streams and even some road side ditches. It appeared that if you put a bucket of water out, you may have attracted an angler.
